About the Forum

The NZ-CN Gut Health & Functional Recovery Forum is an international platform dedicated to advancing research and collaboration in gut microbiota, health recovery, and disease prevention. Initiated by Aroha Gut Health Trust, this forum brings together leading scientists, clinicians, and industry pioneers from New Zealand and China to share groundbreaking insights and foster cross-disciplinary innovation.

At the heart of this forum lies a simple yet profound belief: gut health is the foundation of human well-being. Scientific discoveries have increasingly revealed how microbiomes influence everything from digestive health to immune function, chronic disease management, and mental well-being. Yet, despite these advancements, many challenges remain—from translating research into real-world applications to integrating natural dietary interventions with modern medical treatments.

A Vision for Science and Collaboration

The Aroha Gut Health Trust initiated this forum with a clear mission: to bridge the gap between scientific discovery and practical health solutions. Our inspiration comes from both traditional knowledge and cutting-edge research—combining the wisdom of natural, plant-based therapies with the latest breakthroughs in microbiome science. Recognizing the need for deeper collaboration, we have partnered with leading universities, research institutions, and clinical experts from both New Zealand and China.

This forum is more than just an academic conference; it is a call to action. By bringing together pioneering researchers, healthcare professionals, and industry leaders, we aim to:

  • Uncover new connections between gut microbiota, functional recovery, and disease prevention.
  • Promote multidisciplinary collaboration, bridging the worlds of microbiology, nutrition, and clinical medicine.
