Helen brings a multidisciplinary background in social science, data science, public health, and management to her work advancing innovation in global health and food systems. She co-founded Oritain, applying scientific methods to verify supply chain integrity, and currently chairs Zestt Wellness and Viropin Pharmaceutical—ventures dedicated to developing science-based natural therapies and tackling antimicrobial resistance and viral threats. Her career has focused on applying systems thinking and data-driven approaches to address critical health challenges. Recognized with awards including ODT Business Person of the Year and the Otago Polytechnic Distinguished Alumna Award, Helen has also contributed to governance and advisory roles for national health and science organizations – including ESR (NZ) and United States Pharmacopeia (Food Ingredients Expert Committee and Food Fraud Expert Panel). Her work reflects a strong commitment to translating research into real-world solutions that improve public health outcomes.
