Prof. AIwen Wu

Director, Department of Colorectal Surgery

Professor Aiwen Wu is a distinguished colorectal surgeon and Director of the Department of Colorectal Surgery at Peking University Cancer Hospital. He is a leading expert in colorectal cancer surgery and multidisciplinary treatment of gastrointestinal malignancies.

Professor Wu specializes in the surgical treatment of colorectal cancer, gastric cancer, and complex gastrointestinal malignancies, with extensive expertise in minimally invasive surgery, including laparoscopic and robotic techniques. He has made important contributions to the advancement of transanal total mesorectal excision (TaTME) and other innovative approaches for the treatment of low rectal cancer.

In addition to his clinical work, Professor Wu is actively involved in the development of multidisciplinary treatment strategies, including chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy, to improve outcomes for patients with colorectal cancer. His work focuses on integrating surgical innovation with precision oncology to enhance both survival and quality of life for cancer patients.
