Professor Yong Li is Vice President of Guangdong Provincial People’s Hospital (Guangdong Academy of Medical Sciences) and Director of the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery. He is a distinguished surgeon specializing in gastrointestinal oncology and minimally invasive colorectal surgery.
Professor Li has extensive experience in the laparoscopic treatment of colorectal cancer and gastrointestinal tumors, with a particular focus on standardized treatment strategies and enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS). His research also emphasizes the development and application of colorectal cancer clinical databases and big data platforms, contributing to improved surgical outcomes and precision treatment.
He has led multiple national and provincial research projects and has published widely in leading academic journals, including Advanced Science, ACS Nano, and Diseases of the Colon & Rectum. Professor Li has authored and edited several academic monographs on laparoscopic gastrointestinal surgery and has actively promoted the advancement and dissemination of minimally invasive techniques in gastrointestinal surgery.
Professor Li also holds leadership roles in several national academic organizations, including the Chinese Medical Doctor Association and the Guangdong Medical Association, contributing to the development of clinical guidelines and academic collaboration in gastrointestinal surgery.
